Kyle Banner, 49, of Brick Township, was sentenced on Friday, Mar. 22 to four months in Ocean County Jail, county prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release. He was a teacher at Toms River Intermediate North (TRIN) and Ocean County College.

Banner pleaded guilty on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, to three counts of endangering the welfare of a child. As part of his plea, Banner was given parole supervision for life, forfeited his teaching license, and was banned from future public employment.

Banner will also be required to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law. He'll also be prohibited from having any contact with his victims under Nicole's Law.

TRIN administrators were told on Sunday, Apr 23, 2023, that Banner posted sexually explicit pictures of himself on his public Twitter profile. He was suspended without pay the next day.

Investigators said students saw the pictures on Banner's Twitter profile. Police also determined that the photos were taken in his TRIN classroom.

The investigation also found that Banner sent inappropriate photos of himself to a student on Snapchat between October and December 2022. Detectives also recovered several pictures of Banner "engaging in sexual conduct with himself" in his TRIN classroom.

Banner turned himself in to Toms River police on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was brought to the Ocean County Jail and released.

Banner was also active on TikTok, posting videos about New Jersey history, podcasts, and his favorite outfits.
